SIBO stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Symptoms can overlap with IBS and food intolerances. Bloating alone does not establish SIBO. Clinicians interpret testing alongside symptoms and medical history. A low-FODMAP diet may ease symptoms but is not a proven cure for SIBO.
